It was no easy commute along Route 42 in Gloucester County Monday afternoon after police activity snarled traffic in Turnersville, N.J.
Around 5 p.m. both directions of the 4300 block of Route 42 -- near Leddon Lane -- were shut down for police activity.
A short time later the southbound lanes were reopened but by 5:25 northbound traffic remained closed. The road was finally reopened around 6:10.
The police investigation turned out to be a false alarm, authorities said.
