School Bus Involved in 4-Vehicle Crash

Three people are recovering after a school bus accident in the Port Richmond section of the city.

Officials say the bus was involved in a crash with three other vehicles on the 3800 block of Frankford Avenue Monday afternoon.

Three people, including the driver of the school bus, were injured in the crash. Officials say one of the victims was briefly trapped inside one of the vehicles. That person is being treated for serious injuries at Temple University Hospital.

Two of the other victims are also being treated at Temple. Officials have not yet revealed their conditions.

A spokesperson for Atlantic Express Bus Company, which owns the bus, told NBC10 no students were on the bus at the time of the accident. The spokesperson says the students had just been dropped off from an independent charter school before the crash.

Footage from SkyForce10 shows that the wheels and axles fell of the bus at some point.

Officials have not yet revealed the cause of the accident.
