Truck Winds Up on Both Sides of Route 42 in Camden County

Expect traffic delays for the morning rush on both sides of the North-South Freeway

The first day back to school and work after the Labor Day holiday was marred by a crash that caused slowdowns in both directions of the busy North-South Freeway (Route 42) in South Jersey.

A box truck and pickup truck collided along Route 42 near the Route 55 interchange in Camden County just after 5:30 a.m.

The accident appeared to happen in the northbound side then crossed the median into the southbound side, coming to a rest on the center barricade.

Traffic backed up along both Route 42 southbound and Route 55 northbound approaching the scene. Only one lane got by on 42 south. Cars also slowed along 42 northbound toward Philadelphia.

The White Horse Pike could be used as an alternate, NBC10 First Alert Traffic reporter Jessica Boyington said.

By 8 a.m., the crash was cleared by residual delays remained.
