Smashing Pumpkins in 2-Vehicle Crash

A two-vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital and sent pumpkins into the air this morning.

The silver sedan and silver SUV collided at Allegheny and Aramingo Avenues in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The force of the wreck sent the SUV onto the curb, through a fence and into the outdoor produce display at R&R Produce. The crash left the damaged sedan in the intersection.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead, two people could be seen being tended to by emergency crews. Dispatchers said a 45-year-old woman and 62-year-old man were transported to Temple University Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Expect some traffic troubles around the area as investigators worked to figure out what happened.

Westmoreland Street could be used as an alternate route, according to NBC10's Jillian Mele.

The crash left the front-end of both the SUV and sedan visibly damaged.

It appeared the SUV just missed a Christmas tree display outside the store.
