A 12-year-old girl made up a story about a masked man trying to snatch her from outside a Philadelphia charter school Thursday afternoon, detectives tell NBC10.
The reported abduction attempt was said to have happened around 12:30 p.m. in the schoolyard of Belmont Charter School at 4030 Brown St. in West Philadelphia.
The girl said a short, thin masked man wearing all dark clothing grabbed her, but she broke away and ran into school for help.
After interviewing the girl, Special Victims Unit detectives said she admitted to lying about it all.
No word on whether she faces trouble for the false report.
