Lightning Possibly Ignites NJ Fire

A two-alarm fire burned in Burlington County Monday night and authorities were trying to figure out if lightning was to blame for the blaze.

Flames broke out around 6:30 p.m. in a storage facility building on the 100 block of Juliustown Road in Pemberton, N.J., authorities said.

Around 8:30 p.m. firefighters were still working to extinguish some hot spots. The fire was finally brought under control under 10 p.m., officials said.

Investigators were trying to figure out if a lightning strike possibly sparked the blaze, officials said. Severe thunderstorms passed through the area around the time the fire started.

The exact cause of the fire won't be known until all the hot spots are extinguished and investigators can sift through the ashes, officials said.

No one was hurt in the blaze.
