Shooting Leaves Man, SEPTA Bus Driver Hurt

Bus driver was just waiting to start a route in West Oak Lane Tuesday night

Two people were hurt -- including a SEPTA bus driver waiting to start his route -- during a shooting in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia Tuesday night.

An unidentified 22-year-old man was struck in the arm and leg at 77th and Ogontz before running into a nearby Chinese restaurant for help. He was in stable condition at the hospital late Tuesday night, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police say there were at least 12 bullet casings marked after the shooting.

At least one stray bullet hit a parked SEPTA bus. No passengers were on board at the time, but the bus driver suffered cuts from broken glass and he was taken to the hospital, cops said.

The unidentified driver was expected to be OK, police said.

Tuesday's incident marks the second SEPTA driver injured in a shooting in just a week. Last Tuesday, driver Bernetta Rembert was shot in the arm while sitting alone on her bus.

No word was given on a possible motive for the most recent shooting or if the victim was the intended target.
