Man Killed After Being Struck by 2 Cars

A man was killed after being hit by two cars Monday morning in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. on the 8500 block of Frankford Avenue near Benson Street.

Two women were walking nearby when they spotted the injured man on the street. As they approached, the man reportedly told the women that he had been injured after being struck by a car that fled the scene.

As he was talking, the woman say that another car, driving at a high speed ran over the injured man, killing him. That car also left the scene.

The women called the police and the injured man was rushed to Aria Hospital's Torresdale division. He was pronounced dead around 4:50 a.m.

Police have no description on the first car that struck the man. However, they believe the second car is either silver or gray with possible front-end damage.
