Man Hurt After Building Partially Collapses in South Philly

A man is in the hospital after a partial building collapse in South Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the man suffered back injuries after the building partially collapsed on 18th Street and Passyunk Avenue.

He was taken to Jefferson Hospital. Police have not yet revealed the man's condition or the cause of the collapse.

When the collapse occured, a gas line broke and had to be shut off until the leak was located, according to PGW spokesperson Melanie McCuttry.
