Kids Hurt After Tree Falls on SUV in Lower Merion

Two children were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a crash.

The accident happened just after 4 p.m. when a SUV traveling on Hollow Road between the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) and Hagys Ford Road crashed into a tree, according to Lower Merion Police.

The tree then fell on the vehicle injuring two juveniles inside. The extent of their injuries weren’t immediately released.

It also wasn’t clear who was driving the SUV at the time of the crash.

The Gladwyne exit from Westbound I-76 was closed as authorities investigated the crash. The closure caused backups all the way to the City Avenue exit.

All the roads were reopened around 5:15 p.m.
