Elderly Man OK After Hit-&-Run Outside CBP

Raymond DiCrescenzo says he even plans to head back to the ballpark

An elderly Bucks County man was hospitalized with head injuries Tuesday night after he was the victim of an alleged hit-and-run outside of Citizens Bank Park.

But that won't keep 91-year-old Raymond DiCrescenzo away from the ballpark. He was out of the hospital Wednesday and planning to head back to the ballpark to see the Phillies take on the Nationals, according to his wife of 70 years.

DiCrescenzo, who hails from New Hope, Pa., was leaving the Phillies 3-0 loss a bit early Tuesday night when he was hit.

"He was going pretty fast and I was standing there and I saw him coming at me and I stepped back -- he just brushed me," Raymond said. "I thought I was a goner."

The retired grocer has a bump on his head but was feeling OK after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver round 9:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia Police said.

Police were looking for a gray or silver pickup truck possibly with Pennsylvania tags that struck DiCrescenzo.

On Wednesday night police sources said they had a person of interest in the case and that they had spoken to the person but they didn't name the person.

"He must have known he hit something," said Mrs. DiCrescenzo.

The Phillies offered the great grandfather a pair of tickets for Wednesday night but DiCrescenzo -- a Phillies season-ticket holder -- already had his own.
