Heavy Winds Snap Power Lines, Small Fire Ignites

Some tree limbs and power wires were no match for Friday's storm and heavy winds.

The wild weather even caused live wires to snap and fall to the ground in Southwest Philadelphia.

Firefighters and PECO responded to a call reporting wires were down on 84th Street and Bartram Avenue around 6 p.m.

The live wires created a small, controllable fire in the middle of the road.
