Authorities say that gunfire was exchanged between police and three masked men outside of a CVS in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia on Monday night.
The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. when police responded to a robbery report at the CVS on the 8500 block of Frankford Avenue.
Police say that when they arrived they encountered three masked men with guns.
One gunman allegedly fired at an officer prompting the police to fire back. The three suspects then ran off and escaped.
No policemen were shot or injured during the exchange. Police have not confirmed whether any of the suspects were hit however.
Police continue to investigate the robbery and search for the three suspects.
