Shooting Suspect Crashes as He Flees Cops

Stolen car comes to rest on a guardrail in Camden

A wild scene in South Jersey Monday night as a shooting suspect led police on a multi-town chase that resulted in a crash.

It all started around 9:30 with the report of a man being shot at Park Avenue near Stratford Avenue in Woodbury Heights, according to Gloucester County Dispatch.

The male victim was hit in the hand and knee and taken to Cooper Hospital in unknown condition, authorities said.

Police gave chase as the alleged shooter drove a stolen car toward Camden. He eventually crashed -- the car landing on top of a guardrail -- near an overpass of I-676, according to police.

The suspect jumped out of the car after the wreck and proceeded to flee on foot, cops said.

As of 11:30 police still weren't able to locate the suspect despite canvassing the area of the crash.
