NJ Crash Kills 1, Injures 11, Snarls Traffic

Multi-car wreck kills woman

A woman was killed and nearly a dozen people were hurt in a violent three-vehicle crash in Edgewater Park, N.J. Monday afternoon.

The collision happened around 1 at the intersection of U.S. Route 130 and Cooper Street.

An SVU rear-ended a car and sent that car into a bus stop. The SVU then hit another car and flipped on its roof, said the Burlington County Prosectuor's Office.

A female passenger in the SVU died from her injuries.

The extent and identities of the 11 others hurt in the crash weren’t immediately released but authorities said some people were seriously injured.

One of the injured was standing at the bus stop, police said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Traffic along Route 130 southbound between Levitt Parkway and Delanco Coopertown Road was shut down for nearly 10 hours as authorities figured out what caused the wild wreck and worked to fix a knocked down utility pole.
