Fatal Chase From Delco to Philly

One dead, 3 hurt after suspect crashes in Kingsessing section

A police pursuit that began in Delaware County ended with a deadly collision in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia Tuesday night.

The chase began around 7:30 p.m. in Upper Darby, Pa., according to Philadelphia Police.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the suspect was being pulled over by cops or why he drove off.

The pursuit continued into Philly and ended when the fleeing car crashed into another vehicle and an elderly couple walking along 58th Street between Chester and Kingsessing Avenues.

A passenger in the feeling car died, police said. The unidentified driver of the car was taken into custody.

The driver of the car that was hit was in critical condition at a local hospital, according to authorities.

The two pedestrians were taken to a local hospital where they were in stable condition, said cops.

The two cars involved in the crash were badly mangled as one vehicle came to rest against a brick wall on the corner of 58th and Kingsessing while the other car rested up the street.
