Adults, Kids Escape Philly Firebombing

Philadelphia Police investigated an apparent firebombing at a Germantown section early Monday.

Eight people, including two children, were inside the home on the unit block of E. Coulter Street when the porch caught fire around 3:45 a.m.

Firefighters quickly arrived but a male resident had already extinguished the fire and everyone inside got out OK.

Residents said that someone drove up to the home, tossed some papers and liquid onto the porch and lit it on fire, family members told NBC10.com.

Firefighters found incendiary materials on the porch.

Arson investigators spent the morning searching for clues including examining a charred door.

A family member said this is the second time this house was targeted — someone tried torching the back porch recently. The family also was recently the victim of a Swatting scheme, according to investigators.
