Condo Fire at the Jersey Shore

At least six units damaged in early morning Brigantine blaze

Fire broke out overnight at a Brigantine condominium complex.

Around 3:30 a.m. Friday firefighters responded to a fire at Brigantine Avenue and N 9th Street.

The two-story building was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene, according to the Brigantine Fire Department.

Fire Captain Jim Holl says it wasn't clear if anyone was staying in the units when the fire broke out. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The northerly wind pushed the fire back into the building causing further damage, according to Holl.

Firefighters say two units were a total loss, a third unit was heavily damaged and at least three other units were damaged by smoke and water.

It took firefighters around 90 minutes to bring the blaze under control, according to NBC40.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
