Missing Boy Found Sleeping on School Bus

Boy was reported missing a little after 6 p.m. Monday, but wasn't found until 3:30 a.m. Tuesday

A 5-year-old boy whose parents reported missing Monday night was found sleeping inside a school bus early Tuesday morning, police say.

Karyim Muhammad was found and reunited with his parents at about 3:30 a.m.

Karyim was last seen at Malcolm X Park at 52nd and Pine Streets with about a dozen other kids from his daycare around 5:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police said.

His grandmother, who runs the daycare, went to find the 5-year-old at about 6:10 p.m. Monday and nobody could find the boy.

Police say Karyim was sleeping in one of the buses used in the camp program. The bus was taken back to the depot with the sleeping boy in it and he wasn't discovered until drivers were moving the buses this morning.

Thankfully, the boy did not get off the bus while in the depot, police say. There are large guard dogs in the parking lot.
