Winslow Township Lifts Water Advisory

Winslow Township announced in a press release that the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Township residents were first notified on Friday, October 29 of a problem with the water due to the presence of E. Coli bacteria. Customers were advised to boil their water or use bottled water.

Winslow Township said that tests from the Department of Environmental Protection confirmed that the water quality is now safe.

The Township advices residents to run their faucets for three to five minutes to flush their service connection and interior plumbing with water from the service main.

They also advice people to empty and clean their automatic ice-makers and water chillers. Finally, the town says that water reservoirs in tall buildings should be drained and refilled.

Winslow Township apologizes to all residents for the inconvenience and thanks them for their patience.

Winslow Township schools will remain closed on Tuesday because of Election Day. They will reopen on Wednesday.

If you have any questions or comments, you can contact the Winslow Township Water Department on Tuesday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 609 567 0700.
