Body Found at Philly Construction Site

Workers at Strawberry Mansion demolition site find decaying remains

Philadelphia Police and the medical examiner were called to the 2200 block of N 33rd Street Tuesday morning after construction workers found what appeared to be the remains of a woman.

The body was found in a plastic bag on the site of an abandoned four-story building that crew were contracted by the city to demolish, polices said.

Neighbors told NBC10 that they had smelled something foul in the area for some while. Workers tell an NBC10 photographer on the scene that it appeared the body wasn’t there long.

Sources say the body was likely dumped here after the building was taken down.

It was unclear how the woman died.

Neighbors say the area is plagued by drugs and prostitution.
