Boat Fire on Delaware River

Fire breaks with 2 people on working board

A boat fire broke out around 11:15 a.m. Thursday on the Delaware River near Penn's Landing.

Thick smoke could be seen coming from the 40-foot vessel named "The Sod Master" that was docked near Dave & Busters at 320 S Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

The fire quickly extended to a second boat, authorities told NBC10.

Once NBC10 was on the scene we learned from firefighters that two people were on the Silverton boat, which is out of Solebury, Md., working on the fuel system when the fire began.

A woman was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital complaining of nausea from the fumes of the fire. She was treated and released, firefighters told NBC10.

It took only a little more than 15 minutes to bring the fire under control, firefighters told NBC10.
