The so-called “Black Madam” who allegedly administered illegal buttocks injections could soon be out of jail.
A Philadelphia judge lowered bail Friday for Padge Windslowe, a.k.a. the Black Madam. Windslowe has been behind bars facing aggravated assault, simple assault, deceptive business practices and related charges since Feb. 29 in relation to the injection of silicone into the buttocks of a 23-year-old last month.
Windslowe’s attorney, Chris Mannix, got his client’s bail lowered from $10 million to $750,000.
Police arrested Windslowe Feb. 29 after receiving a tip that she would be performing buttocks-enhancement procedures at a Germantown home.
Police say they confiscated an injection kit complete with syringes, some silicone substance and crazy glue to close up the injection wounds.
Windslowe is under investigation for a botched butt-enhancement procedure on 20-year-old British student Claudia Aderotimi at the Hampton Inn near Philadelphia International Airport in Feb. 2011, according to police. Aderotimi died after the procedure was performed. Windslowe has not been charged in connection with Aderotimi's death.
Police say that on Feb. 19, another woman -- an exotic dancer from North Philadelphia -- received injections of what is believed to have been silicone into her buttocks. Police say she went to Temple University Hospital four days later complaining of shortness of breath and spitting up blood.
"What we believe happened is the same thing that happened in a previous case... the injection struck a blood vessel." Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker said. "Whatever the stuff is -- we believe it's silicone -- went into the blood stream, landed into her lungs and caused shortness of breath."
Police say the woman from the most recent incident has since recovered.

It still wasn’t clear Friday morning if Windslowe would be able to post the 10 percent ($75,000) of bail required for her release.
If she does post bail, the judge says she has to stay away from syringes, needles and crazy glue. Windslowe would also have to live with her parents in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia and be electronically monitored rather than live at her home in Wayne, Pa., according to District Attorney Set Williams.
