Daughter Allegedly Lights Mother on Fire

A daughter was arrested Tuesday and charged with lighting her 44-year-old mother on fire resulting in the mother's death.

Rebecca Olenchock, 24, is accused of killing her mother Kimberly Olenchock.

It all started on Sunday morning when a woman walking her dog made a gruesome discovery behind a shopping center in Bristol, Pa.

The woman reported a fire in the woods behind Bristol Plaza on Durham Road, Bristol Township Police said. When firefighters got on the scene they discovered a makeshift homeless shelter ablaze and Kimberly screaming while on fire.

Firefighters put out the fire but it was too late for the elder Olenchock. She was declared dead shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital suffering from burns.

It appeared that Olenchock, who was homeless, was intentionally set on fire while inside the makeshift shelter after disagreements between mother and daughter. It is believed that Rebecca poured kerosene on the corner of her mother's bed and then lit it and other items on fire.

Rebecca almost immediately fled the scene, cops said. She was tracked down in Bristol, Tenn. and would be extradited in the next 24 to 48 hours, local police said.

Rebecca allegedly confessed to the crime, authorities said.

She is going to be charged with first-degree murder.
