Northeast Philly Home Invasion a Case of Mistaken Identity?

Couple tied up inside their own home

A terrifying experience for a couple inside their Northeast Philadelphia home Wednesday in what appears to possibly be a case of mistaken identity.

The incident happened on the 600 block of Adams Avenue in the Crescentville section of the city.

The man and woman victims had just moved into their home last week, Philadelphia Police said.

Two gun-toting men allegedly burst into the home Wednesday and tied up the homeowners, police said.

The were asking for someone who doesn't live in the home, police said.

The suspects left soon after -- leaving the couple bound. They possible left after realizing they had attacked the wrong people, police said.

The previous owners were possibly the intended targets, officials said.

After about 20 minutes, the couple was able to free themselves and called police.

They were expected to be OK.

There was no immediate word on possible suspects in the case or possible motive.
