Blago himself will grace the Second City stage in "Rod Blagojevich Superstar."

Taking the next logical step in his plan for total pop culture domination, Blago is hitting the stage this weekend.

After conquering cable news and dabbling in reality TV, ousted Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich hopes to help the cancer support charity Gilda's Club when he appears in Saturday's performance of "Rod Blagojevich Superstars" at Chicago's famed The Second City.

The show is a takeoff on the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" and follows Blagojevich's rise and fall. "Superstar" was supposed to end on Sunday but has been extended until Aug. 9.

On WLS Radio's "Don Wade and Roma Morning Show" on Wednesday, Blagojevich said his two young daughters won't be in the audience for the show that mocks him. He says he's lining up a babysitter to watch his girls because he wants them to think "the best of their daddy."

Blagojevich spokesman Glenn Selig declined to say how much Blagojevich will be paid, but said he will make a donation to Gilda's Club.

Former Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich is also getting attention in the second week of NBC's reality show "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!"

Rod Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges. He was impeached and ousted from office in January.
