Cemetery Assault in Camden

For the second time in less than a week someone was assaulted at a South Jersey cemetery.

The latest incident happened around noon Tuesday at the Evergreen Cemetery on the 1800 block of Mount Ephraim Avenue in Camden.

The victim was hospitalized after the attack at the city-owned graveyard, according to the mayor’s office.

No word on how the victim was doing. Also, there were no other details given and the attack was being called an β€œassault” by officials.

In a separate incident Sunday night, a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after visiting a loved one’s grave at the Fairview Methodist Cemetery in Cape May Court House in Cape May County. A sketch of the suspect from the Cape May case was released Tuesday.
