Eagles super fan Shaun Young was hoping the Eagles had plenty against the Giants -- he would be disappointed as the Eagles lost 29-16 in their home opener Sunday, Sept. 25.

Michael Vick returned from a concussion to start. He was a respectable 16 for 23 (70 percent) passing but managed just a 73.8 rating while passing for 176 yards and a pick.
Vick ran seven times for 31 yards and fumbled but it was recovered by teammate Jason Peters... the Giants defense kept the pressure on Vick...

Vick was knocked out of the game for the second-straight week -- this time with a broken non-throwing hand. He has only played a full 16 games once in his career and only played 12 games last season.

Vick's counterpart Eli Manning was better Sunday at the Linc.

Manning looked "Brady-esque" posting a 145.7 passer rating while completing 16 of 23 passes for 254 yards, 4 TDs and no interceptions.

Manning's favorite target was Victor Cruz. The unheralded wideout had three grabs for 110 yards and two TDs including this acrobtaic 28-yard grab over Nnamdi Asomugha.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw did it with his legs (15 rushes for 86 yards) and in the air (five grabs for 53 yards including a1 18-yard TD grab).

The Eagles countered with RB LeSean McCoy who flexed his skills on his way to his second 100-yard game of the season.

Shady ran 24 times for 128 yards and score. He also added three grabs for 13 yards.

WR Jeremy Maclin led the way receiving for the Birds hauling in five passes for 69 yards before leaving the game with a hamstring injury.

This game got chippy at times. Giants DB Antrel Rolle even got a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.

The Giants were the tougher though stopping the Eagles four out of five times in the end zone including a huge goal line stand in the third quarter.

The G-Men also took away three interceptions to the Eagles none. CB Aaron Ross had reason the celebrate his two picks.
