You're Invited: Zahav Turns 1, Throws a Party

The restaurant celebrates with all-you-can-eat hummus and bellydancing.

The restaurant business is notoriously tough - some restaurants don't even make it through their first year and some don't even make it through their first month - but Old City's Zahav is one of the lucky few who've managed to not only succeed in their first year, but to hit it out of the park.

The accolades for the Israeli restaurant have poured in locally (a three-bell review from the Inquirer), nationally (big stories in the premiere food magazines) and professionally (a James Beard nomination for chef Michael Solomonov). To celebrate their spectacular year, the owners are throwing a big party tonight and everyone's invited.

Head to the restaurant tonight and starting at 8 p.m. they'll be serving up $5 all-you-can-eat hummus, $3 Goldstar beers and $5 Lemonnanas (a specialty of the house that involves bourbon, mint, lemon and trouble), plus groove to live Middle Eastern music and a bellydancing show.
