Yo Philly, Watch These Flicks Before You Die

A new list of movies that you “must-see before you die” was released Sunday.

Philadelphians will be proud to know that some of the films (besides Rocky) that made the Yahoo list have a Philly connection.

“12 Angry Men” is a film about a jury’s deliberation of the innocence of a man convicted of murdering his father. Philadelphia native, Jack Klugman, played juror No. 5. The film was nominated for three Oscars and made Roger Ebert's list of "Great Movies."

Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” starred Philadelphia born, Grace Kelly, who played Lisa Carol Fremont in the thriller.

“Groundhog Day” isn't set in Philadelphia or starred any Philadelphia actors, but the infamous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, lives in Pennsylvania.

Hugh Marlow was born in Philadelphia and played Lloyd Richards in “All About Eve,” which also made the list. Ebert also chose this classic on his "Great Movies" list.

There can’t be a  “must-see” movie list without “Rocky.”

The underdog film just can't win. It also ranked the second best sports movie of all time on MSN’s “Top Ten Sports Flicks” list. (Darn "Slapshot")
