Year of Firsts: Go to Stampin Up Workshop

Day 102

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso

Ann Marie Urban read my blog and asked if I'd come to her stamp workshop. "What's a stamp workshop?" I asked.  She enthusiastically told me something about making your own cards with stamps. Sounded like a First to me.

Here's Ann Marie running her Stampin Up Workshop in her home.

I have to say, I'm really not all that crafty. I also have to tell you my camera work doesn't do justice to the cards Ann Marie had us make today.  She admits she's pretty much addicted to this stuff and has just about every Stampin Up tool (cutters, stamps, inks, hole punchers, paper punchers etc.,) you can imagine.

But look at one of the cards she created.  As nice as anything you'll find in a card store.

Funny, I felt like I was in arts and crafts in third grade. It was nice, relaxing, and I made this card which I promptly gave to my neighbor for having us to his concert last night.

The last time I received a handmade card I remember thinking how special it was.  The personal touch is a gift in itself.  What a great hobby and creative outlet. I forgot. Arts and Crafts is still fun.

Ann Marie has her own web site.  Check her out at http://www.annmarieurban.stampinup.net/
