Union Trust is Philadelphia’s newest lux steakhouse, serving up more then just hot hunks of beef. The service is impeccable, the drinks are devine, and you won’t find a loser of a table in the joint.
Eat this: The Petit Filet Mignon, 8 ounces ($27)
The Petit Filet Mignon is a fantastic choice of tender beef when cooked to the absolute right temperature. Medium rare to medium is recommended, to fully get the full-bodied taste of this fine hunk of meat. Have the in-house sommelier pair a wine with your beef, for added sophistication and flavor.
Also try: The Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, 10 ounces ($27)
If you are not up for the cattle call, go with the Alaskan sockeye salmon, which melts in your mouth and serves up all the right flavors.
Pick either the Yukon gold au gratin ($10), the bacon-braised Brussels sprouts ($9) or the mushroom tarte tatin ($12) as a side for yourself or share with your dining companions. All of the side dishes at Union Trust are almost worthy of their own glowing review.
For the Bargain Hunter: The cajun meatloaf, ($13)
This delicious blend of meat and spices is served with hand-mashed potatoes and only at lunch!
