That Guy: Jedidiah Baxter

This week's That Guy Profile is Jedidiah Baxter.

This week's Profile is Jedidiah Baxter of Philadelphia. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Jedidiah is this week's That Guy.

What I like about this outfit.

Jedidiah, has put together a look with some great prep inspired pieces, without looking like a college co-ed. By dressing up his jeans with a well-tailored blazer and a burgundy knit tie for some color, he really mastered the "in-between" look perfectly. A gingham shirt is not reserved solely for garden parties anymore and he pairs his with this look effortlessly. Channeling that old school, James Dean kind of cool, he rolls up his jeans to show off his white socks with his loafers.

Where could this outfit  be worn?

This look is perfect for a number of occasions. If you are headed to a holiday party, first date or just meeting up with friend for dinner this look should be a go-to option for you. If you work in a casual environment, but wanted to dress it up a bit this look is ideal.  This look has some of the elements of a dressier outfit and a casual look.

Where can you buy this particular look?

For an all-purpose blazer, check out brands like H&M, Onassis Clothing and H.Freeman. Knit ties add a bit of character to almost any look and brands like Clubroom, The Knottery and carry knit ties is various patterns and fabrics. A pair of loafers can really class up a pair of jeans and brands like Johnston & Murphy, Allen Edmonds and Salvatore Ferragamo should be your first place to look for a great pair. Lastly, get yourself a gingham shirt from brands like Gap, Ratio Clothing and Lands End Canvas.

Style Tip?

There are few things to take from his look. When wearing a gingham shirt it is best to pair a solid knit with it to break up the checkered pattern. In the case of  he may want to switch his jeans to a shorter length and maybe taper the leg for a better fit at the ankle. The white sock and dress shoes is generally a style faux-pas; however, his look works (but for the novice you may want to go for a colored sock option).
