What I like about this look.

Curran’s suite brings the gap between winter and spring menswear, with the addition of the red gingham pattern shirt. One of the best features of this look is that he took a major risk by mixing such a bold pattern shirt with a chalked stripe suit. For a very subtle splash of color, he opted to wear a pair of deep purple colored wingtips shoes. It's not a shoe color that most would attempt; however, the blue hues in the shoes really complement the navy blue suit. What I love is that with all of the pattern mixing and color splashing, he went with a simple white pocket square, which is peeking out of his blazer's breast pocket. Bravo!!

Where could this outfit be worn?

This look is perfect to wear to the office, to any corporate event or even a party. This look would be considered dressy because it’s a suit.  By nixing a tie and adding the subtle color splashes with the shirt and shoes, this shows a guy how to add character to an outfit.

Where can you buy this particular look?

This particular style of navy blue suit is carried by a variety of brands. Bergdorf Goodman, Jack Wills and Ralph Lauren are all brands that come to mind when thinking of the classic navy wool suit with or without pin striping. This spring and summer season, every guy should add at least one gingham pattern shirt to his wardrobe. Brands like Frank & Oak, Hugo Boss and J.Crew carry gingham shirt all year round in a rainbow of colors. Florsheim, Duckie Brown and Johnston & Murphy are all great shoe brands that carry long and short wingtip shoes to pair with every outfit in your closet.

Style Tip.

Depending on your height, you may opt for a bit of break in the trousers at the hem to accentuate your legs. Also, not every guy will feel bold enough to try a color shoe like his.  In terms of footwear, a safer option would be an oxblood or chestnut brown shoe. For the guy that wants to wear sneakers with a suit, add a pair of all- white canvas tennis shoes. Converse and Lands’ End, are great brands to try when looking for an all-white canvas, tennis shoes.
