SundayOUT! at The Piazza

The biggest GLBT festival takes over NoLibs on May 2.

Spend Sunday “out” in more ways than one at the Piazza at Schmidt’s.

The region’s largest Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Transsexual festival will take over the Piazza for seven hours of art, entertainment, food and lots of commitment.

In fact, one of the biggest draws of this year’s event is the National Same-Sex Commitment Ceremony when couples can cement their commitment to one another for all to see in a very special ceremony starting at 2:30 p.m.

You can register for the Commitment Ceremony on the Equality Forum's Project 1138 website and blog. 1,138 is significant because it's the number of federal marital benefits and protections that same-sex couples are denied.

After the love fest, stick around for a fashion show, Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus Cabaret with RENT star Anthony Rapp, a dance performance by The Smoke, Lilies and Jade Arts Initiative and, at 6 p.m., Q102 and My106.1 present Agnes, Kristine Elezaj and Samantha Marq.

A free shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes between the Piazza and Knock in the Gayborhood starting at noon.

Admission to the May 2 NoLibs events is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

So, get out and celebrate your sexuality.
