Toasting The Good Life

Find a little bit of everything to enjoy

Head out to The Suburban Home Show featuring a Food and Wine Festival this weekend to check out products and gadgets galore, savor some gourmet munchies and hey, you can even learn how to be a wine snob.

Brian Santos from HGTV's "Wall Wizard" will show off his painting skills and teach you easy and cheap ways to spice up plain old walls.

The Food and Wine Festival features appearances from four celebrity chefs -- Robert Irvine, host of Food Network's "Dinner: Impossible," Fabio Viviani, a contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef," Philly native and Emmy Award-winning Christina Pirello, host of "Christina Cooks" and Ingrid Hoffman, host of Food Network's "Simply Delicioso." All four chefs will prepare delicious dishes for audience members and share their cooking tips.

And not only can you pick up great home and food tips, guests can attend wine tastings and seminars as well. Beer drinkers in the crowd can head to the Beer Gardens for a taste test and before you hit the alcohol, take your appetitie over to the Taste of Italy and Greece food and wine pavillions. They'll be stocked with samples from local chefs.

If you're bringing the kids, there will be marionette shows, games, face painting and more.

It's all taking place October 16 through Oct. 18 under one very large roof -- the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa. Tickets to the show are $12 and children under 12 can get in free. The celebrity chef seminars are $30, all things wine are $20 and the beer tasting is $10.
