Sting Produces Special Love Venom

King of Pain: He's older now, and perhaps a bit mellowed from all the years of tantric sex, but Sting still tours and maintains a bevy of very excited fans. He plays tonight at the venerated Tower Theatre, and, judging from recent set lists on this tour, is playing a host of solo stuff with a few old Police favorites thrown in for good measure. $65.50-$176.50 8 p.m.

PFF Pick: As the festival continues, the opportunities abound for you to take in a rare, obscure and off-beat option, such as the nutty Underwater Love, which features a "reptilian watersprite" and the man who loves her in a comic concoction that's one part musical, one part romance, and nearly entirely crazy. $12. 10 p.m.

Refrescos: The bar might be hard-pressed to hold more than a half-dozen people in the cozy, fine Mexican spot of Las Bugambilias, but the drink specials are worth the tight confines: $5 house margaritas, which are excellent, and $1 off beers. 5-7 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every afternoon by peeping Play's Dance Card.
