Stephen Starr's SquareBurger opened up shop for the season today, and has a host of new additions to the already delicious summertime menu. They boast one of our favorite burgers in town, and now SquareBurger is adding a crispy fried chicken sandwich that we'll be turning to whenever we're within a mile of the place.
The shakes are top notch as well, with their signature Cake Shake (TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets blended into vanilla ice cream with butterscotch sauce), taking the crown as our favorite in Philly. The Shake-of-the-Month in April is an homage to a childhood favorite, Orange Creamsicle. Other frozen treats new for 2011 are the Birthday Bonanza Sunday, in honor of the 5th anniversary of Franklin Square Park, and the Philly-centric With Love Strawberry Sundae.
To celebrate the big day, local legend Ralph Archbold, who portrays Ben Franklin, will be in the park getting his nosh on with Starr and Co. We can't think of a better way to spend a rainy April day than with a hulking cup full of luscious ice cream, syrup, and TastyKakes. [The Feast]
