Ricardo's: Classy Pizza and More

Ricardo’s Restaurant, is a BYOB housed in an old colonial building complete with low ceilings and stone walls. The decor is fresh and clean with clear wood tables and chairs, complemented by a brick oven.

Meals begin at Ricardo’s with scrumptious Portuguese rolls that are brought in daily from a bakery in Trenton. Ricardo’s menu runs the gamut from deli specialties like the cheesesteak deluxe (mushrooms, sweet peppers, sauce, fried onions, $7) and a prosciutto hoagie ($6.75), to high-end dinner fare like stuffed red snapper (broiled with crabmeat stuffing, $19) and lobster fra Diablo (lobster accented in garlic, wine and herbs in a zesty marinara sauce served over linguini, $22).

Many new items have been recently added to the menu, including a trio of paninis. The spinach and fresh mozzarella panini (tomato, roasted peppers, olive oil and basil, $7.50) makes for a hearty and rustic meal. It’s served with a splendid mango and black bean salad with greens. Other new and delicious menu items include the stuffed flounder (generous serving of crabmeat and accompanied by rice and veggies, $18), the steak and shrimp kabobs ($17.75), and the New Yorker pizza (medium is $14.25 and topped with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and peppers).

The staff at Ricardo’s is particularly helpful, offering suggestions and customizing your order to how you like it. The warm waitstaff and the closely placed kitchen gives the feel of a home cooked meal, rather than a sterile dining experience.

Ricardo’s is the place to try if you like American, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese fare and if you are in the mood for something a little bit different
