Review: Graeme Park Pizza

In a revitalized shopping center just off the Willow Grove Naval Air Base, the Graeme Park Pizza and Cafe building used to house a seedy adult bookstore, but don’t let that deter you. The restaurant has gone to great lengths to redesign the space and make it into a suburban Tuscan retreat. Black wrought iron screens decorate the dining room filled with murals of vineyards and the Italian countryside, wooden tables, and a huge plasma TV.

Pizza and pasta are not exactly revolutionary cuisine, but Graeme Park delivers a little more than you’d expect from your standard Italian eatery. Entrees include addictive garlic knots and a generously portioned salad. Light eaters can count on getting at least half of the entre wrapped; servings are large enough for two meals. The fettuccine alfredo ($10.95) is served hot with a nice sprinkling of fresh herbs in a rich, buttery cream sauce, while the cheesesteaks ($6.95) are packed with meat and served over a large helping of crispy fries. Graeme Park avoids some of the common pizzeria pitfalls; the food is never greasy and the salads are always fresh.

Although service can be a little slow at times because of the crowd, the waitstaff’s friendliness and helpfulness more than make up for delays. They are also extremely accommodating when it comes to splitting meals or special requests.

If you don’t feel like cooking and are looking for a no-hassle dinner, Graeme Park Pizza and Cafe will satisfy. Just across the street from the huge Regal Warrington Crossing 22, it’s the perfect spot for a casual dinner and a movie date.
