Resurrection Brings Back Fried Chicken

Shortly after being named one of the Best Fried Chicken plates in the U.S. by Bon Appetit Magazine, Resurrection Ale House took the popular bird off the menu. Owners Brendan Hartranft and Leigh Maida said the choice was made to highlight other great options on Chef Joey Chimko's menu, but all it really did was break the hearts of every pub crawler in Philly. For a while there, fried chicken was a thing in Philly. But, the disappearance of this bird along with Matt Levin's amazing rendition following him out the door at Adsum really set the movement back.

Lucky for us, Resurrection decided to bring back the double-fried fowl starting September 21. To celebrate the triumphant return, they'll be serving nothing but fried chicken from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Once the dinner hour hits, the crowd will be treated to free bites of the famous bird for the remainder of the evening. On September 22, the Fried Chicken will be joining the rest of the regular menu.

Please, don't ever take this away from us again, Maida. We don't ask for much. [The Feast]
