Red Carpet Recap: โ€œA Little Night Musicโ€ Opening

Catherine-Zeta Jones โ€œwowedโ€ us with her voice in the film Chicago, a big-budget production of the musical by the same name. Co-starring with Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere, Zeta-Jones not only showed the world she had some singing chops, but she also did all of her own tap dancing in the movie. She ultimately won an Academy Award for her role as Velma Kelly in Chicago and performed live with Queen Latifah at the corresponding Oscars ceremony in 2003. At the time, Zeta-Jones was about nine months pregnant. For those of us who keep track -- she wore a black Armani gown!

Zeta-Jones is back at the singing gig again, only she is now on Broadway in "A Little Night Music." The opening was last night. Zeta-Jones gets a standing ovation for the fashion choices she made for the official after party, which was held in Tavern On The Green in New York City. Hereโ€™s the recap:

In a black column-style dress, Zeta-Jones looked regal. The dress was made of a black silky crepe material with what seemed to be a black chiffon-like piece tied around the waist that tiered to the floor, slightly off-center, almost like a sash. The dress had a plunging V-shaped neckline with a slight suggestion of capped sleeves. The skirt of the dress had modest tiered layers, but were very tight to the body. Zeta-Jones had her hair pulled up and back. Her make-up was done in โ€œsmokey eyesโ€ and dark lipstick. She wore gorgeous drop pearl and diamond earrings. With her open neckline, a necklace could have worked beautifully, but she chose to go with only earrings (and a bracelet). She had a minimalist, classic beauty look working. Overall, Zeta-Jones looked radiant.
