Records, ‘Ritas and Santeria

Outdoor Record Party: We've finally shed that whole still-winter-without-the-snow thing that was going on for a while and it's time to take the party outside. Tonight, at the El Bar, you can attend the Smile party and hang out in El Bar's super cool backyard space while hearing the sweet psych sounds and sonic vibrations of DJs Eddy Gieda and Will Hannan. Free. 8 p.m.

Margarita Time: As long as we're hanging outdoors, why not take a walk over to El Camino and sip on some half-price margarita pitchers. Get blood-orange, lavander or the special exotic blend of the day. Whatever the choice, it will be mighty tasty. 10 p.m.-12 a.m.

Santeria: No, it's got nothing to do with that Sublime song. In fact, if you attend the screening of When the Spirits Dance Mambo tonight at the I-House, you'll find that Santeria (otherwise known as La Regla Ocha) is a serious West African and Caribbean religion brought about by 16th-century slaves that has found its way into the music, culture and dance of Cuba and, later, America. $5-$10 7 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every afternoon by peeping Play's Dance Card.
