Fight Video: Russia hasn't made Chris Simon less punchy

With all this talk about NHL-mandated anger management sessions lately, what better time to check in with our old pal Chris Simon over in the KHL? Here's the former New York Islanders psycho playing for Vityaz Chekhov and fighting Martin Grenier of Traktor Chelyabinsk in a Russian league game yesterday:

Did you notice anything strange about that fight? Check out Grenier -- who had cups of coffee with the Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers -- offering to remove his visor before the brawl begins. Simon appears to actually shake him off, so then Grenier fights with the damn thing on. Bizarre and quite weak on all fronts.

The puckheads on HockeyFights.com give this one overwhelmingly to Simon, who has actually only fought three times in the KHL this season. Not only that, but unless it's one of those wacky European hockey jersey advertisements, it appears Simon is an alternate captain for Vityaz Chekhov.

What's happened to our boy? Has the KHL scared him straight? More importantly, is he somewhere on the KHL All-Star Game ballot? Because it reads like Klingon to us.
