Please Do Eat The Daisies

Pig out on a flower show-inspired food tour

The Philadelphia Flower Show may be beautiful but we think it would be a lot more fun if you could eat the displays instead of just smell them (particularly since this yearโ€™s theme is โ€œBella Italiaโ€). For flower fans like us who canโ€™t get our minds off food no matter how hard we try, City Food Tours has organized an epicurean flower show of its own.

Every day this week beginning at 10:00 a.m. foodies can unleash their inner flower power through a three-hour tour of specialty food shops around the city. They will sample flower-related food stuffs like teas made from jasmine, violets and chrysanthemums, lavender-dusted goat cheese, blue cheese with wildflower honey and orange blossom- and rose-infused chocolates. Participants will also be given a hands-on planting demonstration of a low-maintenance edible Italian garden.

The tours are $39 per person and reservations can be made on the City Food Tours website.
