With its grand opening just last week, Matthew Izzo's new 111 S. 12th Street boutique is already a Midtown Village hot-spot. Located within the bottom floor of the White Building, the shop has a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere -- just the kind of laid-back vibe that Izzo was shooting for while designing his new, eponymous boutique.
Izzo tells us that he made the last-minute decision not to renew the lease on his Old City store, instead choosing to invest his time and resources in a more stable location. According to Izzo, last year's tragic Duck Boat accident has adversely affected tourist shopping activity within the Old City shopping district; boutique owners had come to depend on the foot traffic generated by Duck Boat operators pointing out their stores during the tour.
This Saturday, March 12, Izzo will be celebrating his new store with a Grand Opening Party. The event will take place at the 111 S. 12th Street boutique from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will include cocktails and cupcakes.
