Dear Harry: For years, I have taken advantage of mail-in rebates on things that I have bought . . . mostly electronic items. I have wondered why they don't just reduce the price at the point of sale and save all the postage for the company and the hassle for the customer. There has to be some reason for this that needs explaining. Is this up your alley?
