Philly's Upcycled Street Banner Totes

In collaboration with Philadelphia nonprofit work rehab programs, Center City District is recycling Philly's street banners into tote bags. The Banner Bags ($19.99) reuse promotional banners that previously flew high above Philly's streets, like those used to tout the Auto Show, Cirque Du Soleil Kooza, The Color Purple, and the Red Bull Soap Box Derby.

Each bag boasts the same durable, water-resistant qualities as the original banners, with two internal pockets, and 12 inch top handles. An added bonus: each banner only yields enough fabric for four totes, so no two bags are exactly alike.

You'll find the CCD's Banner Bags at Big Green Earth Store, Open House, and the Reading Terminal Market's Pa General Store.
