Philly Fans Survive Elimination Sunday

On a Easter Sunday of reckoning for area sports teams, the Flyers and Sixers each won games in their respective series that kept them alive to play again, the Phillies won another game behind their number-one ace, and area fans had a day to rejoice.

First, the Flyers won game six in OT in Buffalo, leading up to a deciding game seven back on home ice, a result which left more than one fan sobbing for joy. Then, the Sixers pulled away in the last minute to win their first game against the mighty Miami Heat on a long three from Sweet Lou Williams, a game one fan claimed to be the most exciting of his life. Finally, Roy Halladay fanned 14 and the Phillies swept the Padres to remain in first place in MLB, and fans swelled with pride.

Making this Resurrection Day even sweeter for Philly hoops fans? The Lakers lost, and the Knicks got swept. Obviously, we'd better enjoy this moment as much as possible, because teams' fortunes can certainly be fleeting, but in the meantime, Philly fans can revel in their time. Hallelujah!
