Philamoca Pairs Art With Music

Gavin Hecker and Eric Storms are the two guys behind the Philadelphia Mausoleum of Contemporary Art, known as Philamoca. They run the gallery and music space out of the former Mad Decent headquarters, the spot where Philly ex-pat and world-renowned DJ Diplo and his gang would cut records and hold their annual block party. Diplo still owns the building, but Hecker and Storms have made it their own, ushering in and supporting young artists and musicians for about six months now.

Check out the "Sonic Textures" show with gig-poster artists like Nate Duval, Bruce Horan, and David Welker up now, including some solo selections by Welker, the artist best known for his work with jam band Phish.

The Curator takes a peek behind the curtain to reveal the folks programming the finest events in town.
